Our Temporary Home Away from Home

Hello all!  We have vacated our home here in Tucson.  We didn't travel far yet, only about 15 miles to the other side of town.  We are staying in a trailer park for a week or two to test out the travel trailer and make everything works well before we truly hit the road.  So far so good!  I have even cooked dinner almost every night.  For those of you who know me, that is quite a feat!  It is the first time I have cooked on a gas stove and oven and I love it!  We are definitely getting gas at the new house, it's much better than electric.

Our dog is doing great adapting.  Learning new things on a daily basis, doing very well.  We are pleased about that, should make the trip much easier with a relaxed dog in the truck.

We'll be taking off for to the east the latter part of this week, we are ready.  We've been waiting for the weather to break and it's starting to look better.  We are planning on being there around the 5th of April.  I'll take pictures of each of our "camp-sites" along the way.

Keep you all posted!  Take care and we'll see you when we return for the winters.

A work of art!

Even though I'm not teaching right now, the learning just keeps on going!  Here is a picture of Julie's bargello from the class we did a few months ago.  She did a slightly smaller version because she is going to frame it and display it as a piece of art.  The colors she chose created such depth to the pattern.  It is breath-taking to say the least.  Good work Julie!

Our Property in PA

Here are a few pics of our property prior to building.  I will post pictures as the progress goes along.

Taken in September 2012.  Soon, there will be a house facing you as you look at this picture.

This is not our mailbox, it belongs to the neighbor across the street.  Ours is the one in the far distance, although this is all our property.  Guess they will be moving their box because this is where our driveway will begin.

Again, looking toward where the house will be set.  There is a creek in the wooded area, one from the left and one from the right that meet at the corner in the woods.  My craft room will be on the back of the house facing that view!!

Taken at a different time of year.  This was taken from where the house will be looking at the view from my craft room out the back.

The trees are beautiful this time of year.  Of course, after Arizona, the trees out there look pretty good all year long... LOL

This will be the view from the front porch.  Coffee in the morning and relaxing with the paper!

Civil War Family Quilt

I made this quilt for my husband, it has several pictures of his relatives that fought in the Civil War.  On the back, I will put a summary of each picture and it's history.  I'm excited about this one!
