Moving Day!!!

Finally... we have electricity and we had to wait for the ground to dry out a few days in order to tow the trailer over to the property.  We had to tow it over the grass area, so we decided to wait a few days so we didn't get it stuck.  It was worth the wait.  Before we left Tanglewood Campground, we had a visit from a wild turkey.  They are pretty big around here, and plentiful but this is the first we had actually at our campsite visiting.

So, after that visit, we're off to our property...

The house is going to be off to the left side of the picture above

Our trailer on the property, had to get a picnic table.  Not sure where we are going to place it yet, still settling in...

Our new view from the trailer.

I thought the grass grew fast here, but the weeds are twice as tall in the same amount of time... what's up with that?

More pictures to come.  the block is about done, next week we have a garage floor and the crawl space will be done, then we're off to bigger and greater things!!!

Father's Day

Larry's first Father's Day away from our son and his family but with our daughter and her family.  A good time was had by all.  It was Larry's first Father's Day with our 5th grandchild!  Our daughter made a wonderful Lasagna and we enjoyed a great meal.  Spent time with Evan, our youngest grandchild.  The twins are in Arizona for their summer visit.  Hopefully they will be able to see our son and his family while they are there.

Hope everyone had as great a Father's Day as we did.  Here are a couple of pictures.

Evan trying out the "Walker" with advise from grandpa.

Evan is not quite sure about the whole walking thing yet, but he stands well when he's got something or someone to hold on to.

Sometimes, crawling is just the best way to get there, leave the walker behind... LOL  Gotta love 'em at this age!!!  Can't tell I'm a proud grandma, can you?

We have equipment now

So, in order to plant the trees and do a multitude of other tasks around the property we decided we needed some equipment.  We are now the proud owners of a ride lawn mower and now a tractor with a backhoe.  Larry has already made a flat pad for our trailer to sit once we get the electricity hooked up to the property.  Lots to do and now we have the equipment other than a shovel to make it happen.  Life is good...

Jake has met his first chicken...

Jake met his first chicken while visiting with our neighbors Chuck and Nancy.  Actually, it is a rooster and he crowed a few times.  Jake wasn't quite sure what to make of this new creature.

Footers are ready for block... then the floor and so on and so on...

Yes, they have finally started.  We have footers then they will do the block on Monday.  Then comes the floor and the walls.  It's on it's way and I couldn't be more excited!

Our neighbors down the road are planting strawberries.  This was very cool to watch.  Very methodical and what a team they made!!!

Snow in May!!!

OK, it's the middle of May and we are getting snow up here at the campground.  Seems wrong, but the next day was nice and sunny.  Here's a couple of pictures of that.
